Wood shutters are a beautiful addition to any home

Curtains and blinds can quickly collect dust as well as be susceptible to fading, but with shutters you can rely on the strong visual appeal for many years to come. Whether you prefer a more modern look or a traditional style of interior, there are a range of options to perfectly complement your designs. We supply and fit three S:CRAFT branded ranges of hardwood shutters at Shuttercraft Northants, all of which create the sense of elegance and functionality to make light work in your living space.

The Sumatra and Fiji ranges can be crafted with either painted or stained finishes, which make the most of the natural wood grain. Wood stains provide more of a classic appeal than is supplied with other materials.

The entry level Cuba range of hardwood shutter has a linear grain which makes them ideal for painting, providing the painted finish with a flat and uniform look.  All three of these ranges are incredibly durable as well as being lightweight and can be shaped to meet the requirements of the window, door or living space. There are therefore a number of reasons why wooden products, rather than any other material, are the best choice for your home.

Hardwood shutters are environmentally friendly too

At Shuttercraft Northants we are almost obsessive in our passion for supplying great products, which is why we offer shutters made from premium quality sustainable woods. The Sumatra range we offer from S:CRAFT is a premium, FSC® certified, product and is made from white teak, which is a wood that quickly grows to maturity in sustainable plantations on the Solomon Islands.

When supplied in the stained finish, the Fiji range is crafted from a wood from the Paulownia tree, which grows speedily in certain parts of China. Paulownia can increase in size by up to 20 feet a year, and is able to grow back from existing roots, helping to speed up growth after harvest.  Both ranges of premium wooden plantation shutters we offer include the same benefits, and Fiji and Sumatra also have the same features:

As an alternative to curtains or blinds, choosing a wooden product from a sustainable source can therefore look good as well as being an ethical solution.
